Alongside my work as a musician, I am actively involved in advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, equality, and fair treatment for musicians within the music industry.

Much of this work takes place through the Musicians' Union, where I contribute to discussions, policy development, and representation for members across the UK.

LGBTQ+ Equality

I am committed to supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality within the arts. This includes advocating for safe and welcoming creative spaces, equitable opportunities, and greater visibility for LGBTQ+ musicians and audiences.

My work focuses particularly on improving representation within live performance spaces and supporting initiatives that strengthen diversity and inclusion across the music sector.

Musicians' Union Work

I am an active member of the Musicians' Union and currently serve on several of its committees and advisory bodies:

  • North of England Regional Committee (since 2023)
  • Members' Assembly (since 2024)
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board (since 2026)

Through these roles I contribute to member representation, governance, and the development of policies that support musicians' rights, diversity, and fair working conditions across the industry.

Why This Matters

Music and the arts thrive when they are inclusive, equitable, and accessible. I believe musicians have an important role to play in shaping a fairer industry and ensuring that creative spaces reflect the diversity of the communities they serve.

My involvement in advocacy and union work is an extension of my artistic practice and a way of helping strengthen the wider musical community.
